It’s Official

surgeryinstructions

I’m having surgery next week Tuesday. I’ve known for about two weeks that this may have been a possibility but it was confirmed and scheduled yesterday. It’s a minor thing but I’m a little nervous and, of course I’m thinking about what will happen to my body without TWO MONTHS of exercise….like, seriously? Seriously? So 10 days ago I mentioned that I had to go back to my orthopaedic doctor because my foot was acting up during my trip and… Continue Reading

Homegrown!

The only real update I have is about my tomatoes – in the pic above, I picked all those tomatoes from out plants in one afternoon.  They’re gorgeous and amazingly sweet. The green beans have come and gone and my herbs are coming along too. Continue Reading

Trying MyFitnessPal Again

myfitnesspal

I was using MyFitnessPal a lot before I went on my holiday but its been hard to get into since I’ve been back.  I realized that my problem was that it can get really annoying putting in individual food items for a meal. So since my breakfast items are usually the same, I created a recipe in the app so I now only have to select one item (as opposed to several). I’m hoping that should make me more likely… Continue Reading

What a Great Weekend

seaegg

Happy Easter! We get a glorious four days off from work (Good Friday and Easter Monday are national holidays in Antigua) and I spent some of those days in the sun and sea. What you see above is a sea egg, which is the skeleton of a sea urchin. This is the absolute largest one I’ve ever seen. I have some other sea eggs at home so see how they compare in size: Continue Reading

…I was completely unfocused. Here is a sampling of what was running through my mind as I was supposed to be concentrating in working my biceps, triceps, and shoulders: Where is he today? WTF? Is this chick seriously on her phone as she does a bicep curl? Are my armpits sweating? Wait, I didn’t realize he has gray hair. How old is he? Eeeeeeew At least the weight gain made my booty bigger The friggin weight gain also… Continue Reading

I Had No Idea These Existed, Did You?

Flatulence Filtering Underwear (by Shreddies). I was flipping through a magazine the other day and in that back section where all the ads are, I saw it; I saw the ad for Flatulence Filtering Underwear. There were no real details in that ad other than it supposedly reduces the smell of your farts. Of course I had to go to the website and it turns out that the product is marketed to those who have issues like irritable bowel syndrome… Continue Reading

Dani Is Back!

Feels Good to be Home   I was away for five weeks and at about week 3.5, it hit me just how much I missed home, my family, and the beach! I had an amazing time in Europe; I went to Madrid, Paris, Amsterdam, and London – the best time ever. I wish I could go back and gain those 6lbs again. Yup, my ‘eat-everything-in-sight’ behind gained 6lbs. I somehow thought that all the walking I was doing would keep… Continue Reading
